Head of HR
The Head of Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic HR leadership. This role partners closely with senior leadership to drive organisational effectiveness, talent capability, leadership development, and a performance-driven culture aligned with the Group’s growth ambitions in the property and construction sector. The role oversees end-to-end HR governance, policies, and execution, ensuring compliance, workforce sustainability, and strong people practices across multiple business units and project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the Group CEO, Board, and senior leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Develop and implement a HR strategy aligned with business goals, expansion plans, and operational needs.
- Provide workforce insights and people analytics to support decision-making and long-term planning.
Talent Management & Succession Planning
- Lead talent acquisition, workforce planning, and manpower optimisation for corporate and project-based environments.
- Design and implement succession planning, leadership pipelines, and high-potential talent programmes.
- Drive leadership development initiatives to strengthen management capability across the Group.
Performance, Rewards & Culture
- Oversee performance management frameworks, KPIs, and incentive structures that support accountability and results.
- Develop and manage compensation, benefits, and reward strategies that are competitive and sustainable.
- Champion organisational culture, employee engagement, and values across diverse teams and project sites.
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Serve as the key authority on industrial relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Manage relationships with unions, employees, and regulatory bodies where applicable.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies across all entities.
HR Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labour laws, local employment legislation, and applicable regional regulations.
- Establish and standardise HR policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks across subsidiaries.
- Identify people-related risks and implement mitigation strategies, particularly in site-based and high-risk environments.
HR Operations
- Oversee HR operations including payroll, HR systems, employee data management, and reporting.
- Drive process improvement, digitalisation, and HR operational efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Group HR team to deliver high-quality HR services.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g. SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM) will be an advantage
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership level role
- Proven experience within construction, property, or project-based organisations
- Hands-on experience in industrial relations, large workforce management, and regulatory compliance
