Our client is on the hunt for a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Manager in HR to support their Head of HR on a 12 months contract - renewable. This role is an exciting opportunity to delve into the fast-paced world of the retail beauty industry. The successful candidate will have the chance to cover all corporate functions relating to HR matters, including compensation, benefits, HR operations, and industrial relations.

As an Assistant Manager in Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of HR. Your responsibilities will span across various facets of HR operations from recruitment & selection to talent management. You will also be entrusted with ensuring employee well-being and fostering their professional development. Your strategic advice and leadership will be sought after in managing key risk areas of HR. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with department heads on various initiatives aimed at strengthening organisational capability and accelerating talent development.

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations including recruitment & selection, employee relations, performance management and talent management
  • Ensure every aspect of employee well-being and continued professional development is looked after
  • Provide strategic advice, guidance and leadership on all aspects of key risk areas of HR
  • Offer professional advice regarding employee relations issues such as employment, performance management, absenteeism, discipline and grievances
  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments in areas like process improvement, change management, organisational innovation and succession planning to strengthen overall organisational capability and accelerate talent development
  • Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness through process improvement

What you bring:

As an ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager in Human Resources position, you bring along a wealth of experience in Human Resources Management. A background in the retail or beauty industry would be advantageous. Your strong understanding of employee relations and performance management will be essential in this role. You are adept at providing strategic advice on HR matters and have hands-on experience managing various aspects of HR operations. Your knowledge of process improvement strategies will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency.

  • Proven experience in Human Resources Management
  • Background in retail or beauty industry is preferred
  • Strong understanding of employee relations and performance management
  • Ability to provide strategic advice and guidance on HR matters
  • Experience in managing HR operations including recruitment & selection, talent management etc.
