Human Resources Manager (6-month Contract)

Our client is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager for a 6-month contract role based in Penang. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your extensive HR experience, providing coaching and guidance to the local HR team, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will be instrumental in aligning strategic HR goals with business initiatives, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing employee relations, ensuring that any issues or conflicts are swiftly resolved. Your excellent coaching skills will be utilised in developing the local HR team, while your understanding of local labour laws will ensure our client's compliance with all regulations. You will use performance management tools effectively to provide valuable feedback to all employees. Your role will also involve partnering with the management team to align strategic HR goals with business initiatives.

  • Manage employee relations such as investigations and conflicts, bringing them to resolution
  • Provide coaching, guidance and knowledge transfer to develop the local HR team
  • Ensure the organisation's compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to all employees
  • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
  • Partner with management team to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Human Resources Manager position brings a wealth of practical HR experience, including at least 5 years at a managerial level. Your proficiency in local labour laws and human resource practices will be invaluable in this role. Experience within a multinational semiconductor company would be advantageous. You possess strong analytical and counselling skills, demonstrating system thinking and business orientation. Your excellent command of English enables you to communicate effectively across all levels within the organisation.

  • University graduate in Business Administration or Human Resource related discipline is preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years’ practical HR experience, of which minimum of 5 years at a managerial level
  • Proficient in local labor laws and human resource practices
  • Experience in multinational semiconductor company a plus
  • Possess analytical and counselling skills; demonstrate system thinking and business orientation, self-initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent command of English – written and spoken, and able to communicate and interact with all levels of people
