An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and manage the human resources function within the construction industry. This role offers the chance to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the overall business strategy, manage the recruitment process, foster a positive work environment, ensure compliance with labour regulations, and effectively manage foreign labour.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the workforce of our construction company. You will a be tasked with managing the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring that every new hire is onboarded smoothly. In addition to this, you will assess training needs across departments, developing comprehensive programs that enhance employee skills while boosting overall productivity. Compliance is key in this role; you will need to stay abreast of local, state, and federal labour laws while overseeing compensation packages. Lastly, your role will involve collaborating closely with our safety team to maintain a secure working environment.

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain skilled employees
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and resolving employee concerns promptly
  • Assess training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and performance
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labour laws and regulations
  • Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs
  • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
  • Track and analyse HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and management of foreign labour to ensure compliance with immigration laws

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Human Resources Manager role will bring a wealth of experience in HR management within construction industry. You will have a strong academic background, ideally holding a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Your knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations will be second to none, and you'll have proven experience managing foreign labour. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities are also key.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in HR management within construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations
  • Experience in managing foreign labour along with knowledge of immigration laws
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong communication abilities
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
