What you'll do:
As the Global Total Rewards Lead based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a central role in shaping how the organisation attracts, motivates, retains, and rewards its top talent worldwide. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating with senior stakeholders to craft innovative reward philosophies that support both business growth and employee satisfaction. You will oversee the full spectrum of compensation—from base pay structures to complex incentive schemes—ensuring they are aligned with both market trends and internal objectives.
- Develop and evolve a comprehensive global total rewards philosophy that supports the organisation’s trading performance objectives, innovation agenda, and risk management culture.
- Design tiered compensation structures for trading, technology, research, and operations teams to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Manage the annual global compensation review cycle including bonus pool modelling, pay calibration processes, and executive compensation oversight.
- Oversee short-term incentives, long-term incentive plans, and deferred reward mechanisms that reflect both desk-level and firm-wide achievements.
- Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team including C-suites and Executive Committee to define PnL-to-bonus ratio frameworks that maintain competitive positioning within the global trading sector.
- Establish and operationalise a global performance management cycle integrating OKRs at individual, team, and desk levels with business priorities.
- Partner with leaders across functions to set measurable success criteria for traders, technologists, and operational staff while driving a culture of continuous feedback through coaching sessions and regular check-ins.
What you bring:
To excel as Global Total Rewards Lead you will bring extensive experience from senior HR positions within trading-focused or technology-driven organisations where you have successfully led large-scale reward transformation projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Economics or related discipline is required to provide foundational knowledge for this strategic position.
- Progressive experience in HR roles with years spent leading Total Rewards or Performance functions within proprietary trading firms, fintech companies or high-growth technology environments is essential for success.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing trading- or investment-related compensation models such as PnL-based pay structures as well as discretionary or deferred payment schemes is highly valued.
- Proven track record implementing OKR or similar performance frameworks within data-driven multinational organisations ensures you can drive alignment between business goals and individual contributions.
- Advanced financial modelling skills using tools like Excel along with proficiency in analytics platforms such as Tableau or Power BI are necessary for effective decision-making.
- Deep understanding of global compliance requirements including local labour laws, tax regulations, deferral policies as well as experience partnering with legal teams on governance matters is crucial.
- High integrity combined with strict confidentiality allows you to operate effectively in high-stakes settings where discretion is paramount.
