There was high demand for tech professionals in 2018 as companies embarked on aggressive digital transformation initiatives to stay relevant and improve processes.

In particular, professionals with multiple skill sets such as DevOps and full-stack development will be sought after by hiring managers. The demand for talent with skill sets in robotics process automation, big data, blockchain and AI will also remain high.

The limited tech talent pool will mean that professionals with niche technical expertise will be expecting salary increments above the average range of 20-30%. In addition to competitive salary packages, candidates will also be looking for flexible working options.

This was among the key findings of the Robert Walters Salary Survey 2019 – South East Asia & Greater China. The annual survey contains recruitment market updates, hiring advice and benchmarks salaries across our markets in the region.
