Fairly subdued recruitment levels expected in 2017
The Robert Walters Global Salary Survey for 2017 has been released. The annual survey contains recruitment market updates, hiring advice and benchmarks salaries across our global markets.
Here we discuss the employment outlook for Malaysia in 2017.
Hiring trends in Malaysia
In 2017, we expect that most businesses will continue to maintain or possibly even reduce headcount across non-critical areas. In particular, market conditions will remain challenging for the oil and gas, electrical and electronic manufacturing sectors.
However, hiring activity is expected to remain strong in digital marketing and e-commerce throughout 2017 with the expansion of new businesses. As a result, technology professionals with good programming skills will continue to be in demand.
