An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager in Business Development, specialising in Biosurgicals. This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to our organisation's short and long-term business goals. You will be at the forefront of identifying, evaluating and pursuing business development opportunities. The role involves managing complex market research projects and developing portfolio strategies.

What you'll do:

As an Assistant Manager in Business Development specialising in Biosurgicals, you will play a pivotal role in driving our organisation's growth. Your primary responsibility will be identifying lucrative business development opportunities that align with our strategic goals. You will manage complex market research projects, providing valuable insights that shape our business decisions. Collaborating with various teams across the organisation, you will help develop portfolio strategies that expand our market share while fostering long-lasting relationships with our clients. Your expertise will also be crucial in planning and executing product-related events as well as conducting informative training sessions for our customers.

  • Identify, research, evaluate, and pursue business development opportunities that align with the organisation's goals
  • Manage complex market research or analysis projects; evaluate findings, prepare reports, and make recommendations about the viability of alternative opportunities
  • Develop portfolio strategy in collaboration with the local market to expand market share, optimise pricing strategy, and build long-term relationships with clients
  • Collaborate with representatives in Emerging Markets to identify potential dealers, manage negotiation processes, prepare contracts, provide inputs on pricing, product pipeline and contract terms
  • Establish professional relationships with potential clients, customers, and partners to promote the organisation’s products and services
  • Conduct training and presentations for existing and potential customers
  • Plan and execute product-related events regularly
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team to manage inventory effectively

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager, Business Development (Biosurgical) role is an experienced professional with a strong background in sales, marketing, or business development within the sutures and biosurgicals industry. You should have a proven track record of planning and executing long-term business plans, managing product launches and campaigns. Your experience in the product listing and tender process will be invaluable. Additionally, your ability to organise internal training sessions, external workshops and continuing medical education for the sutures business will be crucial. A good understanding of Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets is advantageous.

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and marketing or business development experience in sutures and biosurgicals
  • Experience in planning and executing a 3-year business plan, managing product launches and campaign
  • Exposure in business development and a good understanding of Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets
  • Ability to identify and build a KOL network in local and/or regional markets
  • Experience supporting OT cases and understanding of various surgical procedures is ideal
