An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Dialysis Nurse to join a leading healthcare provider. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about providing top-notch care to patients with Renal Disease. The candidate will be responsible for delivering nursing services, documenting observations, to communicating emergencies and administering appropriate treatments. This role is available in various locations across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

What you'll do:

As a Dialysis Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care to patients suffering from End Stage Renal Disease. You will be involved in every aspect of their treatment - from initiating and terminating dialysis procedures to assessing their overall health condition. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to note any signs of trauma or changes in the patient's physical or mental state. You'll also play a crucial role in communicating any emergencies or life-threatening complications to the relevant authorities. Your compassionate nature will shine through as you provide education to patients and their families about renal disease and its impact on their lives. Your commitment to delivering quality care will see you formulating individualised dialysis plans for each patient under your care.

  • Supervise and perform direct patient care including taking and monitoring vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment of patients and patient treatments
  • Take and transcribe physician’s orders, draw and document ordered laboratory work
  • Note signs of trauma, patient’s general physical and mental condition, review dialysis orders, document observations in patient medical records
  • Analyze patient assessments, laboratory data and bring issues to the attention of the physician when concerns are noted
  • Communicate all emergencies, patient life-threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor, Medical Director, Regional Operations Manager
  • Assess patient and family learning readiness and provide appropriate information on renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and medical regimen and its impact on the patient’s state of health and well-being
  • Provide dialysis therapy, administer medications or other appropriate treatments, discontinue dialysis according to established procedure, document all activity appropriately
  • Instruct patients on pre- and post-dialysis care
  • Administer patient quality care in a considerate, respectful manner
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the patient’s short and long term plan of care and monthly progress note

What you bring:

As a Dialysis Nurse, you will bring a wealth of experience in nephrology nursing. You are registered as a general nurse with the Malaysia Nursing Board and hold an approved nephrology nursing qualification. Your current annual practicing certificate is testament to your commitment to ongoing professional development. Your intermediate computer skills will be put to good use as you document patient information and create presentations. Your previous experience in providing direct patient care has equipped you with the skills necessary to monitor vital signs, initiate and terminate dialysis procedures, and assess patients' overall health. Your keen observational skills enable you to note any signs of trauma or changes in patients' conditions. You are adept at communicating emergencies or life-threatening complications to the relevant authorities.

  • Registered as a general nurse with Malaysia Nursing Board
  • Holds an approved nephrology nursing qualification, post-basic qualification for nephrology
  • Current annual practicing certificate
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point with ability to create presentations and use the Internet effectively
  • Experience in providing direct patient care including taking and monitoring vital signs, initiation and termination of dialysis, documentation, physical assessment of patients and patient treatments
  • Ability to take and transcribe physician’s orders, draw and document ordered laboratory work
  • Experience in noting signs of trauma, patient’s general physical and mental condition, reviewing dialysis orders, documenting observations in patient medical records
  • Ability to analyze patient assessments, laboratory data and bring issues to the attention of the physician when concerns are noted
