What you'll do:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer based in Penang, you will immerse yourself in day-to-day activities that safeguard the integrity of both processes and products. Your role will involve close collaboration with production and engineering teams to ensure compliance with stringent quality management systems while addressing customer requirements. You will champion continuous improvement by analysing data trends, resolving non-conformance issues, conducting audits, maintaining critical documentation, and facilitating knowledge transfer through training. Your ability to communicate effectively across departments will be key as you manage incoming parts inspections, oversee testing procedures at various stages of production, and coordinate responses to audit findings. • Take responsibility for projects related to product and process quality to ensure that all products meet rigorous standards and deliver total customer satisfaction.
• Analyse data thoroughly to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding any quality concerns or failure incidents, fostering open communication and trust.
• Drive investigations into quality issues by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and monitoring outcomes for sustained effectiveness.
• Lead internal teams in preparing detailed 8D reports for both customers and internal stakeholders whenever quality issues arise.
• Participate actively in new part approval processes and support transfer projects by ensuring all relevant quality requirements are met.
• Assist with customer audits as well as third-party assessments to demonstrate compliance with established standards.
• Conduct internal audits and supplier evaluations when necessary to maintain high levels of quality throughout the supply chain.
• Develop, update, and maintain essential quality documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), Standard Inspection Plans (SIP), Control Plans, and more.
• Deliver engaging training sessions on quality-related topics and ISO standards to QA Inspectors and other internal team members.

• Hold a degree in Engineering or Science from a recognised university or related field which demonstrates your foundational knowledge in technical disciplines.
• Bring at least three to five years’ experience in quality engineering or assurance roles where you have developed strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
• Demonstrate familiarity with mechanical drawings as well as core quality tools essential for effective process control.
• Possess working knowledge of ISO9001 or ISO14001 standards which will be considered an added advantage for this position.
• Showcase experience or understanding of the cable and connector industry which would further enhance your suitability for this role.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions within the organisation.
• Display strong written communication abilities required for preparing detailed reports such as 8D analyses or audit findings.
• Have proven experience conducting internal audits or supplier evaluations within a structured quality management system framework.
• Be comfortable delivering training sessions on technical topics related to quality assurance or ISO standards to diverse audiences within the company.
• Demonstrate reliability by managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
