A Senior Supplier Quality Engineer job has just become available at one of the most respected manufacturing and production firms based in Penang. Reporting directly to the Sourcing Director of Asia, this is a role for senior candidate who can manage for all aspects of supply base development in Asia.

About the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Role:
This role serves as a direct liaison for all company’s division to suppliers based in Asia, outside of China and India. You will be responsible to identify and qualify appropriate low volume, high mix suppliers according to market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of supply base development in Asia (excluding China and India)
• Serve as direct liaison for all company divisions to suppliers based in Asia outside of China and India
• Work with the company’s existing Quality System guidelines to identify and qualify appropriate low volume, high mix suppliers with emphasis on serving Aerospace, Medical and Oil and Gas market needs
• Complete Supplier Quality Management System audits for purposes of approve and maintain, and to work with suppliers to close out any audit finding
• Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis, verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues and perform source inspection
• Provide support value engineering, manufacturing process assessment and product development, including technical benchmarking, capability assessments, compliances reviews and risk assessment of potential sources of supply
• Continuous involvement in the Supplier selection process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery, and technology
• Maintain a supplier database and monitor supplier performance, communicates, and takes action to maintain high levels of supplier performance

The successful Senior Supplier Quality Engineer is a self-starter who demonstrates solid quality background along with balanced engineering and commercial sourcing expertise.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or Engineering Degree in Mechanical/Electronic/Electrical Engineering
• Eight years' relevant working experience in Supplier Quality Management
• Working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100 and ISO13485 and understanding of Quality Management methods (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, 8D)
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, and the ability to read, understand and write complex technical drawings and quality documents
