Regional Energy and Sustainability Manager

Save job

A leading global organisation is seeking a Regional Energy and Sustainability Manager to drive the development and execution of a comprehensive regional strategic plan focused on sustainability and energy initiatives. If you are passionate about making a tangible difference in sustainability while enjoying flexible working opportunities and the chance to influence regional outcomes, this position provides an exceptional platform for your expertise.

What you'll do:

As the Regional Energy and Sustainability Manager, you will play a central role in shaping the future of environmental stewardship across a diverse portfolio of sites within the Klang Valley region. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both local plant teams and global leadership groups as you work together to identify opportunities for improvement, develop actionable masterplans, and execute capital projects designed to achieve ambitious natural resource targets. You will be responsible for designing policies that set clear expectations for sustainability performance while also providing hands-on coaching to help sites bridge gaps in their current capabilities. By developing tailored training programmes and facilitating open communication between stakeholders, you will ensure that every team member is equipped with the knowledge they need to contribute meaningfully to shared goals. Your ability to analyse data, provide insightful recommendations, and foster a culture of continuous learning will be critical in driving lasting positive change throughout the organisation.

  • Partner with the regional sustainability team as well as global leaders and EHS experts to ensure seamless integration of sustainability initiatives across all relevant sites.
  • Execute global standards for sustainability reporting by gathering data, analysing trends, and communicating progress towards key targets.
  • Support business units in mapping current performance metrics, identifying existing conditions, and developing robust masterplans tailored to each location’s unique requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to design a detailed roadmap that outlines technology requirements for achieving long-term energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive training programmes for local teams to build capacity in implementing new policies, standards, and best practices related to energy management.
  • Provide expert recommendations on sustainability energy strategies by conducting gap analyses and supporting sites in building foundational blocks necessary for success.
  • Design policies and standards that enable effective implementation of regional programmes and projects aimed at reducing environmental impact.
  • Coach site-level teams through change management processes, offering guidance on overcoming challenges and maximising opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor progress against established targets by tracking key performance indicators and providing regular feedback to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between plants by organising workshops, meetings, and collaborative sessions focused on continuous improvement.

What you bring:

To excel as a Regional Energy and Sustainability Manager, your background should reflect substantial experience in environmental or sustainability roles where you have successfully navigated complex organisational structures. Your expertise will include not only technical knowledge of energy management but also the interpersonal skills required to foster collaboration among diverse teams. You will bring a thoughtful approach to policy design—balancing global standards with local realities—and demonstrate an ability to coach others through change. Your analytical abilities will allow you to identify gaps in current practices while your communication skills ensure buy-in from all levels of the organisation. A passion for continuous learning combined with practical experience developing training resources will further enhance your effectiveness in this influential role.

  • Demonstrated background in environmental science or sustainability management with proven experience delivering results in complex organisational settings.
  • Recognised subject matter expertise in energy management and sustainable practices applicable at both site-specific and regional levels.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining composure under pressure during periods of high demand or competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to work collaboratively with regional stakeholders as well as local operational teams.
  • Experience partnering with engineering functions to define technology requirements that support long-term sustainability objectives.
  • Proficiency in designing policies, standards, or frameworks that facilitate successful programme implementation across multiple locations.
  • Track record of developing engaging training materials or coaching resources tailored for diverse audiences within an industrial context.
  • Analytical mindset capable of conducting thorough gap analyses and translating findings into actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to present complex information clearly to both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders alike.
