What you’ll do
In the role of Project Manager (Power Plant), you will be instrumental in driving project management efforts, focusing on project scope and requirements rather than asset management. Your expertise will guide projects to successful completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency and innovation.
- Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and optimization of energy assets
- Collect, analyze, and manage comprehensive system information/data, maintaining performance monitoring dashboards
- Evaluate plant operations and propose technical modifications for safety improvements, cost reduction, and enhanced reliability
- Ensure ongoing excellence in operational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance of energy assets
- Prepare timely and detailed reports, budgets, and compliance documents, including key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Liaise with stakeholders to manage technical issues and support project planning and execution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines, and inputs for development stages
- Review project documents, such as feasibility study reports and design documents, to identify potential risks
- Address technical challenges with innovative solutions as they arise
- Frequent travel to power assets is required, with a base at the Kuala Lumpur office
What you’ll bring
To excel as a Project Manager (Power Plant) in Kuala Lumpur, you will bring a robust set of skills and experience in engineering and project management within the Power Plant sector. Your background will be crucial in navigating the complexities of this role and driving projects to successful outcomes.
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- At least 10 years’ experience in thermal power plant operations, maintenance, or project management, with coal and/or gas-fired and/or large scale solar experience being advantageous
- Strong analytical skills to solve engineering problems and improve efficiency
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write detailed technical reports
- Knowledge of ISO standards and industry best practices
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
