About the Senior Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager (Solar) Role: Functionally and administratively reporting directly to the Project Director, this position plays a critical role in overseeing and facilitating the development of a large-scale solar PV farm project.
Key Responsibilities:
Take charge of and direct the solar PV farm project's development phase, ensuring the prompt accomplishment of milestones from feasibility to financial close and RTB stages
Act as the central point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities, facilitating seamless collaboration
Identify, assess, and effectively manage project risks, instituting mitigation and contingency plans to ensure project continuity
Prepare and manage project budgets, engage in financial modelling, establish schedules, and efficiently allocate resources to maintain fiscal control
Assure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and policies governing solar PV development, aligning your project with legal requirements
Engage in contract negotiation and management with vendors, contractors, and partners, ensuring beneficial agreements for the project
Supervise and guide project teams, guaranteeing their alignment with project objectives and the timely delivery of project milestones
Take the lead in crafting permits, applications, and other regulatory documentation necessary for the project
Oversee the project's quality and safety standards, ensuring they meet or surpass established benchmarks
To succeed in this Senior Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager (Solar) role, you will need to have a minimum of five years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong emphasis on solar energy.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field
Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong emphasis on solar energy
Proven track record in managing large-scale projects from their inception through to successful completion
Knowledge of renewable energy markets, technologies, and regulatory frameworks
Exceptional project management skills, characterised by organisational prowess and strong leadership capabilities
Proficiency in negotiation and a knack for creative problem-solving
Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders while nurturing positive relationships
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification is advantageous
