What you'll do:

As Plating Process Manager, you will be entrusted with full responsibility for managing complex surface finishing operations from end-to-end. Your day-to-day activities will involve close supervision of both people and processes—ensuring that every aspect of electroplating/ anodizing runs smoothly. You will be expected to apply your deep technical understanding not only in troubleshooting but also in proactively optimising workflows for greater efficiency. By working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance and Production Engineering, you will help maintain rigorous compliance with industry standards while championing continuous improvement projects. Your ability to interpret data trends will be crucial in shaping strategic decisions that support both immediate operational needs and long-term business objectives. Success in this role means consistently delivering high-quality results through effective team mentorship, decisive action during critical incidents, and an unwavering focus on process excellence.

  • Oversee daily operations of all metal surface finishing processes including electroplating/ anodizing to ensure optimal productivity and consistent output.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in process efficiency by identifying areas for enhancement in productivity, chemical usage, and overall workflow within the production environment.
  • Utilise your troubleshooting abilities to quickly identify root causes of process issues such as plating defects, chemical imbalances, or equipment malfunctions, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker during urgent or abnormal situations on the production floor, ensuring swift resolution while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a dedicated team of process engineers and technicians by providing hands-on guidance in standard operating procedures (SOPs), chemical safety protocols, and machine operation best practices.
  • Review and approve proposed changes to processes or parameters while evaluating new methods or technologies that could benefit the operation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance team to manage non-conformances, implement corrective actions promptly, and uphold strict compliance with ISO standards as well as customer requirements.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives such as chemical reduction plans or equipment upgrades while continuously seeking out innovative approaches to improve existing processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including rejection rates, process downtime statistics, and chemical concentration trends; analyse data thoroughly to inform recommendations for further improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarising findings from data analysis along with actionable suggestions designed to drive ongoing enhancements across all facets of the plating process.
