This is an exceptional opportunity for you to contribute to the development of high-performance, power-efficient silicon solutions that are at the forefront of the industry. You will be welcomed into a supportive environment where continuous technical advancement and professional growth are prioritised through engaging projects and shared achievements. The team values your passion for modern processor architectures and your expertise in physical implementation flows, offering you the chance to work on complex SoC designs alongside knowledgeable colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Flexible working opportunities and ongoing training ensure you can thrive both personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact.

  • Join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering advanced silicon solutions with a focus on power efficiency and performance, where your contributions will be valued and recognised.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities and comprehensive training programmes designed to support your ongoing professional development within a nurturing environment.
  • Work alongside a knowledgeable network of professionals who are committed to sharing expertise, supporting each other’s growth, and achieving communal success across global projects.

What you'll do:

As a Physical Design Engineer, you will play an integral role in shaping the next generation of high-performance silicon products. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with talented colleagues on challenging projects that require meticulous attention to detail in areas such as floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, timing closure, and physical verification. You will be responsible for generating precise timing constraints, applying advanced debugging techniques when needed, and implementing low-power methodologies that meet stringent industry standards. Your scripting abilities will help streamline workflows while your communication skills will foster effective teamwork across international boundaries. Success in this position comes from your ability to combine technical proficiency with a cooperative spirit—ensuring every project benefits from your commitment to quality outcomes and shared achievement.

  • Take ownership of full-chip floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, timing closure, and physical verification for complex system-on-chip (SoC) designs.
  • Generate and manage timing and SDC constraints with precision, applying strong debugging skills to resolve intricate design challenges.
  • Apply low-power design methodologies including power-aware synthesis and place-and-route, ensuring compliance with voltage domain checks as required.
  • Plan chip-level floorplanning strategies such as feedthrough topology planning, repeater insertion, and top-level port/pin assignment for optimal performance.
  • Contribute hands-on expertise throughout multiple project tapeouts, ensuring successful delivery of silicon products.
  • Utilise EDA tools such as Design Compiler (DC) and Innovus/ICC2 to execute physical implementation tasks efficiently.
  • Perform static timing analysis using industry-standard tools and techniques to guarantee robust design closure.
  • Develop scripts in TCL, Perl, or Python to automate design flows and enhance productivity across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across geographies and disciplines to achieve project milestones together.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders by providing clear updates on progress, challenges, and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

What you bring:

Your proven background as a Physical Design Engineer demonstrates not only technical excellence but also a genuine enthusiasm for collaborative problem-solving within multidisciplinary teams. You bring deep knowledge of physical implementation flows for modern processor architectures along with practical experience handling all aspects of SoC design—from initial floorplanning through final tapeout. Your analytical mindset enables you to generate accurate timing constraints while your adaptability ensures you remain responsive to evolving project requirements. With strong interpersonal skills at your core, you excel at building trust-based relationships across geographies. Your scripting proficiency supports process improvement initiatives that benefit the entire team. Above all else, your commitment to continuous learning ensures you stay ahead in this ever-evolving field.

  • Extensive hands-on experience in full-chip floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, timing closure, and physical verification within complex SoC environments.
  • Proficiency in generating and managing timing constraints (SDC) with strong debugging capabilities for resolving intricate issues.
  • Solid understanding of low-power design methodologies including power-aware synthesis and place-and-route; familiarity with voltage domain checks is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in chip-level floorplanning strategies such as feedthrough topology planning, repeater insertion, and top-level port/pin assignment.
  • Track record of successful tapeout experience across multiple projects within the semiconductor industry.
  • Advanced skills using EDA tools like Design Compiler (DC) and Innovus/ICC2 for efficient physical implementation workflows.
  • Competence in static timing analysis tools and techniques for robust design closure.
  • Experience developing scripts using TCL, Perl, or Python to automate processes within the design flow.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills that promote effective collaboration within diverse teams.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
