What you'll do:

As an In-Circuit Test Engineer in Penang, you’ll dive into the heart of electronic hardware design—working alongside talented teams to create innovative solutions for complex challenges across diverse industries. Your days will be filled with hands-on ICT design using industry-leading platforms like Keysight I3070 and Teradyne. You’ll perform rigorous circuit analysis and software development tasks that keep products performing at their best. Your expertise will shine as you conduct DFT analysis to maximise test coverage on PCBA projects. Simulating test strategies will allow you to deliver tailored solutions that exceed customer expectations. You’ll communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and clients alike as you share technical concepts. Supporting manufacturing operations by managing change controls and facilitating enhancements will showcase your dependability. Finally, you’ll help shape future projects through careful planning during proposal development—all within a supportive network that values teamwork and growth.

• Design and develop electronic hardware for products spanning multiple industries, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and test engineers throughout all stages of product development.
• Lead In-Circuit Test (ICT) design and development activities on Keysight I3070 and Teradyne platforms, applying your technical expertise to deliver robust solutions.
• Perform electrical circuit analysis, software development, debugging, verification, and validation to ensure optimal performance of test systems.
• Conduct Design for Test (DFT) analysis based on schematic and PCB accessibility studies to enhance ICT coverage on printed circuit board assemblies.
• Simulate test strategies to provide comprehensive test solutions tailored to customer programmes, focusing on reliability and repeatability.
• Provide detailed test performance characteristics including coverage, programming/calibration functions, automation, safety, ergonomics, and supportability.
• Articulate ideas, concepts, and concerns effectively to customers through teleconference, email, or in-person interactions regarding project technical subject matter.
• Support ICT testers deployed in manufacturing by facilitating change control processes and implementing new software or hardware releases according to customer needs.
• Participate in proposal development by identifying project tasks, durations, interdependencies, risks, and assumptions with guidance from senior colleagues.

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering is required for this role.
• At least five years’ experience in test development or support within a relevant engineering environment is essential.
• Proficiency in software programming languages such as BT Basic for Keysight I3070, AWK, Perl, C or UNIX Shell Scripting is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive understanding of schematics, electrical circuits and test specification requirements is necessary for success.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital given frequent interaction with international customers.
• Strong analytical abilities coupled with troubleshooting skills enable you to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
