What you'll do:
As a VHDL and Verilog Engineer based in Penang, you will be at the heart of developing advanced modularised test instruments that serve mission-critical sectors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will span the full spectrum of hardware digital engineering—from conceptualising new features based on market needs to hands-on FPGA/CPLD development using industry-standard HDLs. You’ll engage deeply in technology research aimed at pushing boundaries in speed and precision while supporting product validation efforts through rigorous testing and debugging. Working collaboratively with board-level designers and multidisciplinary teams ensures seamless integration of your designs into broader systems. Your ability to diagnose system-level challenges quickly will be essential for maintaining high standards of reliability post-launch. By contributing throughout the entire product lifecycle—including simulation exercises and test automation—you’ll help deliver innovative solutions that set new benchmarks for quality in electronic instrumentation.
- Develop hardware features based on requirements provided by product management teams, ensuring alignment with overall product goals.
- Design and implement FPGA and CPLD solutions using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog for high-speed digital subsystems within modularised test instruments.
- Conduct technology research to identify new approaches for enhancing product performance and reliability across various applications.
- Lead product bring-up activities including validation, verification, and debugging to ensure successful launches of new products.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues during both development and post-release phases to maintain optimal instrument functionality.
- Collaborate closely with board-level designers on circuit design tasks such as schematic capture, layout review, simulation, and signal integrity analysis.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams including architects, project managers, technical leads, and engineers with varied expertise to craft robust designs.
- Participate in design simulation exercises to validate concepts before implementation and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support the development of testbenches for automated testing processes using scripting or programming languages where required.
- Contribute actively throughout the product lifecycle from pathfinding research through final release and ongoing support.
What you bring:
To succeed as a VHDL and Verilog Engineer in this forward-thinking organisation’s R&D team, you will bring substantial experience in hardware description language design—ideally gained through several years working on FPGA-based projects within fast-evolving industries.
