What you'll do:
As an EHS Officer (Green Book Certified), you’ll be at the heart of the organisation’s mission to maintain exceptional standards of safety and environmental care. Your daily activities will see you collaborating with diverse teams to uphold legal requirements while fostering a culture of responsibility. You’ll play a key role in managing hazardous materials handling alongside waste disposal efforts that contribute directly to sustainability goals. - Monitor and ensure full compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and health laws as well as company and customer standards across the facility to create a safe and harmonious workplace.
- Manage waste disposal processes, recycling programmes, hazardous materials handling procedures, and pollution-control practices so everyone can work in a clean and secure environment.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring activities such as air emissions, noise levels, chemical usage, and other key metrics to support transparency and accountability.
- Support sustainability initiatives by participating in projects aimed at reducing environmental impact within the organisation so you can help shape a greener future.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments across all work activities, processes, and equipment to proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Lead Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and risk assessment (HIRARC) exercises to address hazards before they become issues.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans that foster learning and continuous improvement.
- Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), machinery safeguards, and safe work procedures throughout the site to keep everyone protected.
- Lead regular safety drills including fire evacuation, emergency response simulations, first aid sessions, and safety meetings so everyone feels prepared for any situation.
- Oversee workplace health programmes focusing on ergonomics, occupational hygiene standards, employee wellness initiatives, and exposure monitoring to promote long-term wellbeing.

- Minimum of three to five years’ experience working in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment is essential for making an immediate impact.
- Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) certification with DOSH is mandatory so your expertise is recognised by industry standards.
- Familiarity with Malaysian laws including OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act), FMA (Factories & Machinery Act), EQA (Environmental Quality Act), as well as related regulations is crucial for effective compliance.
- Certifications such as NIOSH Safety & Health Officer Course; ISO 45001; ISO 14001 auditor certificates would be considered advantageous but are not required—showcasing your commitment to continuous learning.
- Proven ability to conduct job safety analysis (JSA), job hazard analysis (JHA), risk assessment (HIRARC), accident investigation procedures, and corrective action planning is highly desirable for proactive problem-solving.
- Experience developing and delivering engaging training sessions on ESH policies, emergency response protocols, chemical safety measures or similar topics is preferred so you can inspire others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams are important for building trust within the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation of ESH activities including permits and regulatory reports are necessary for smooth operations.
