What you'll do:

As a Senior Network Engineer based in Penang, you will become an integral part of a dedicated IT team responsible for the stability, security, and performance of the organisation’s global data networks. Your day-to-day activities will involve hands-on management of WAN/LAN/WiFi infrastructure, developing clear documentation for critical systems, troubleshooting complex issues as they arise, and acting as a trusted advisor for both technical staff and non-technical users. You will also play a key role in shaping network policy, recommending technology upgrades, collaborating with third-party providers, and mentoring junior colleagues. Success in this role requires not only strong technical skills but also excellent interpersonal abilities—enabling you to communicate effectively across diverse teams while upholding the highest standards of reliability and service.

• Plan, implement, and maintain advanced network technologies including both WAN and LAN infrastructures to ensure seamless business operations.
• Create comprehensive written documentation for critical network infrastructure components, supporting clarity and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Develop policies and procedures related to effective network management, ensuring best practices are consistently applied across all environments.
• Manage and provide ongoing support for WAN, LAN, and WiFi networks, proactively identifying areas for improvement or optimisation.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity or performance issues affecting networked systems, using your expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
• Act as an immediate escalation point for operations personnel by providing expert guidance on urgent network-related matters.
• Consult on ad-hoc network issues raised by internal stakeholders or external partners, offering practical solutions based on deep technical understanding.
• Recommend hardware and software solutions—including new acquisitions or upgrades—by staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Participate in and lead project efforts related to network build-outs or remote-site activities, ensuring successful delivery through careful planning and execution.
• Oversee customer support requests in compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), maintaining high standards of responsiveness and professionalism.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Network Engineer in this organisation, you will bring substantial hands-on experience managing sophisticated data networks within enterprise settings. • Extensive background in troubleshooting complex network issues and fine-tuning performance across large-scale environments.
• Solid grasp of network security principles and best practices to ensure robust protection against evolving threats.
• Experience working within Microsoft client-server environments as well as familiarity with Windows system administration tasks.
• Proficiency in using Office applications (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio) for documentation, reporting, and process mapping purposes.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills enabling clear communication with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.
