This is your chance to take centre stage in new product test development, guiding projects from the spark of an idea all the way to high-volume production. You’ll be surrounded by a knowledgeable and supportive team, working hand-in-hand with design and applications experts to ensure every product exceeds expectations for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. If you’re passionate about making a real difference in next-generation embedded solutions and thrive in inclusive, collaborative teams, this is the perfect opportunity to energise your career and help shape tomorrow’s technology.

  • Become part of a dependable and knowledgeable team that’s dedicated to developing sustainable, power-efficient solutions for automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and IoT industries—your work will have a positive impact on communities worldwide.
  • Accelerate your career in an inclusive environment that values diversity, supports growth leadership, and encourages you to explore both hardware and software capabilities across multiple product groups.

What you'll do:

As a Senior or Staff Test Engineer based in Kulim, you’ll be at the heart of new product test development within the System Attach PMIC business unit. Your daily routine will be filled with exciting collaboration alongside cross-functional teams around the globe as you define optimal test modes and carry out thorough characterisation processes. You’ll design innovative test plans and hardware solutions that push products to meet rigorous quality standards. By harnessing your analytical prowess with statistical tools and programming know-how, you’ll play a key role in boosting repeatability and stability throughout production. Your knack for managing project timelines and budgets will shine as you guide products through every step of the NPI journey—from initial feasibility right through to final release—while championing efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. This is your chance to make meaningful contributions within a supportive team focused on delivering reliable semiconductor solutions for diverse markets worldwide.

  • Take the lead in developing robust and cost-effective test solutions for power management integrated circuits by choosing the best Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms and implementing smart design-for-test strategies.
  • Work closely with local and global functional teams to align test strategies with business goals and guarantee consistent quality standards throughout every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, design ATE hardware, and deliver solutions that meet demanding coverage requirements while ensuring reliability in high-volume production settings.
  • Dive into ATE test results using advanced statistical analysis tools to boost repeatability, stability, and overall product performance.
  • Provide detailed planning support for test development projects by setting realistic timelines, managing budgets, estimating expected test times, and keeping everything on track.
  • Get involved in every phase of New Product Introduction (NPI), from feasibility studies and hardware design reviews to device bring-up activities, ATE characterisation processes, and production release protocols.
  • Use your programming skills in languages such as C++, Basic, Perl, or Python to automate testing procedures and make data collection more efficient.
  • Apply hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment—including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers—to validate IC chip functionality and gather essential performance data.
  • Troubleshoot analog products with serial bus interfaces using expert knowledge of PCB layout parasitic reduction techniques and ATE analog/digital instruments.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing test efficiency, yield rates, and cost-effectiveness across multiple product lines.

What you bring:

To truly shine as a Senior or Staff Test Engineer here, you’ll bring deep hands-on experience with automated test equipment platforms tailored for analog, digital and mixed-signal devices. Your technical expertise goes beyond basic circuit testing—you’re comfortable automating complex procedures with advanced programming skills. Familiarity with industry-standard lab tools means you can collect precise performance data on integrated circuits with ease. You’ll demonstrate strong analytical abilities—especially around GR&R methodology—and feel confident using statistical analysis software like JMP. Your approach is all about teamwork: sharing insights openly across functions while helping drive process improvements that benefit everyone. Effective communication is key as you coordinate project milestones within set budgets and schedules. Above all else, your dependability ensures each phase of product introduction moves smoothly towards successful production release.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required for this role.
  • At least 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test development for analog, digital, and mixed-signal devices; familiarity with ETS364, 93k, Microflex or ETS800 platforms is highly desirable.
  • Proven proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Basic, Perl or Python for automating testing procedures and data analysis tasks.
  • Practical experience using standard laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers for testing IC chips or electronic circuits.
  • Expertise in data analysis methodologies including Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R); knowledge of JMP application is considered an advantage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ATE analog/digital instruments as well as PCB layout techniques aimed at minimising parasitic effects during testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities when debugging analog products equipped with serial bus interfaces under various operating conditions.
  • Ability to analyse complex datasets generated during ATE testing cycles using statistical applications to identify trends impacting repeatability or stability.
  • Experience providing planning support for large-scale test development projects including timeline management, budget estimation and resource allocation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% if required; must be able to work onsite at Kulim location as part of a collaborative team.
