An exhilarating opportunity awaits an inspiring Site Director to lead a vibrant electronics assembly manufacturing facility in Penang! Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, you’ll be at the forefront of driving the business forward—aligning daily achievements with bold corporate strategies and ensuring the plant consistently surpasses expectations.

This is your chance to champion a truly collaborative and high-achieving environment, where your passion for operational excellence will shape every aspect of plant management. The organisation is celebrated for its forward-thinking culture, where fresh ideas are welcomed, continuous learning is encouraged, and exceeding customer expectations is simply part of everyday life. If you’re searching for a role where your expertise in manufacturing operations will have a visible impact—and where your ability to uplift and empower teams will be genuinely appreciated—this is the exciting next chapter you’ve been waiting for!

What you'll do:

As Site Director, you’ll be at the heart of steering the Penang facility towards new heights by setting priorities that spark productivity gains, elevate quality assurance standards, enhance safety culture, and optimise costs. Your days will be filled with energising collaboration across cross-functional teams as you integrate manufacturing processes seamlessly with business ambitions. You’ll be a driving force behind initiatives that boost employee morale while upholding meticulous standards in materials management and logistics. By forging strong connections with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation—including valued customers—you’ll help nurture a culture that consistently delights. Your talent for mentoring leaders at every level will be key to building teams that flourish through change while delivering outstanding results. To thrive here requires not just technical know-how but also warmth, dependability, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to helping others grow.

  • Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations to ensure production targets are not only met but exceeded through exceptional quality and efficiency.
  • Champion rigorous safety standards and regulatory compliance across every department, creating a secure environment for all employees.
  • Design and implement smart cost control measures that maximise profitability while promoting best practices in equipment care and resource stewardship.
  • Set clear, motivating objectives for each function—including Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Finance—to drive seamless teamwork.
  • Align operational activities with ambitious business strategies to inspire a workforce united by shared organisational goals.
  • Mentor and support the plant leadership team by modelling company values and encouraging everyone to take pride in their contributions.
  • Uphold ethical conduct throughout the organisation by reinforcing compliance policies and fostering accountability at every level.
  • Establish robust systems for monitoring performance against plans, using data-driven insights to make timely improvements.
  • Create an uplifting environment that energises employees through open communication, recognition programmes, and abundant opportunities for professional advancement.
  • Attract, develop, coach, appraise, and retain talented managers and staff members—building a resilient team that thrives on engagement.

What you bring:

To shine as Site Director in this lively environment, you’ll bring deep experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations within multinational settings—ideally within electronics or related industries. Your background should showcase hands-on involvement with modern production technologies as well as successful process optimisation projects. Beyond technical prowess, your approachable nature will help build trust among team members as you guide them through exciting transformations. You’ll have demonstrated how thoughtful strategies can lift employee morale—ensuring everyone feels supported on their journey. Your gift for clear communication across functions will bridge any gaps between departments while reinforcing shared ambitions. A sharp understanding of financial drivers behind operational decisions will enable you to balance cost control with meaningful investment in people’s growth. Most importantly, your dedication to cultivating an inclusive workplace where every voice matters will distinguish you as an uplifting leader who inspires those around you.

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline is required for this position.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in manufacturing operations with progressively increasing responsibility is essential for success in this role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current technologies related to manufacturing processes, engineering practices, new product introduction (NPI), materials management/inventory control systems, distribution logistics, purchasing procedures, and quality assurance methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with proven experience managing profit and loss accountability within complex operational environments is necessary.
  • Exceptional collaborative skills are required along with evidence of successfully driving positive change through supportive leadership approaches.
  • A track record of building high-performance teams by leading cross-functional groups effectively while nurturing talent at all levels is vital.
  • Experience developing employee engagement strategies that foster motivation and retention within diverse workforces is important.
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities are needed to connect authentically with colleagues from various backgrounds as well as external partners or customers.
  • Proven capability in administering collective bargaining agreements or similar workforce arrangements would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A passion for creating responsive organisations that prioritise customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives is highly valued.
