What you'll do:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at IMA Automation Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of automation technology. Your primary responsibility will be to design and build automated production equipment that meets our customers' specific needs. You'll collaborate with various departments, providing expert guidance to ensure seamless project execution. Your work will involve everything from creating detailed designs to performing technical calculations, preparing essential documentation, and supporting the final stages of machine assembly.

• Create detailed designs and concepts for automated production equipment, ensuring they meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Work closely with various teams, including Controls, Software, Purchasing, Fabrication, Applications, and Service, to provide expert guidance and ensure optimal system integration.
• Perform technical calculations and cost assessments to determine the feasibility and efficiency of designs.
• Prepare technical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other essential documentation to support the production and assembly processes.
• Assist the production team during the final fine-tuning stages of machine assembly to ensure the highest quality and performance standards.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role at IMA Automation Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. will bring a wealth of experience in mechanical design, particularly within the fields of automation or robotics. You should hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have a minimum of 8 years' hands-on experience. Proficiency in CAD applications such as Autodesk Inventor , AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Creo is essential. You should also have a strong knowledge of mechanical calculation tools, Geometric & Dimensional Tolerances, and forces. A deep passion for robotics and automation is key, along with the ability to design tooling based on sketches or verbal concepts. The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects is also crucial.

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation or robotics.
• Proficiency in CAD applications such as Autodesk Inventor , AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Creo.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical calculation tools, Geometric & Dimensional Tolerances, and forces.
• A deep passion for robotics and automation, with the ability to design tooling based on sketches or verbal concepts.
• Ability to work independently & be self-sufficient while managing multiple projects.
