Senior Product Engineer

Our client is on the hunt for a Senior Product Engineer with a specialisation in Electrical & Electronics.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the product development process. Your involvement will span from the initial concept stage right through to mass production. You will work closely with both the R&D and Manufacturing teams, providing valuable input during design reviews and assisting in the transfer of products from design to manufacturing. Your ability to manage suppliers effectively will be key, as you'll be responsible for communicating our design requirements and ensuring they are competent in meeting their deliverables. You'll also take on the important task of identifying part obsolescence issues and exploring cost down opportunities with suppliers.

* Participate in design reviews leveraging your knowledge of manufacturing & supplier capability

* Independently and proactively resolve issues in current products

* Assemble and test prototypes, conduct quality tests on products and train others

* Facilitate the transfer of products from design to manufacturing in collaboration with R&D and manufacturing teams

* Manage suppliers, ensuring they meet deliverables

* Identify part obsolescence issues and cost down opportunities with suppliers

* Coordinate between design team and PCBA suppliers to optimise design for assembly cost

* Take primary responsibility for technical capability evaluation/approval of key suppliers for NPD programs

What you bring:

As a Senior Product Engineer, you bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. With at least 5 years' experience under your belt, including 3 years spent specifically on Design/NPD projects/products, you're well-versed in all aspects of electrical/electronic engineering. Your understanding of PCB/PCBA, SMT, ICT, and FCT processes is solid, and any knowledge of Altium Design and FMEA would be advantageous. You're comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and you're able to read and understand schematics, perform simple component soldering, and use measurement equipment such as real-time oscilloscopes.

* Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering

* At least 5 years’ experience, where 3 years are spent in Design/NPD project/product.

* Solid understanding of PCB/PCBA, SMT, ICT, and FCT processes.

* Knowledge of Altium Design, FMEA advantageous

* Ability to work independently and in a team.

* Read & understand schematics, ability to perform simple component soldering, usage of measurement equipment (real-time oscilloscope etc.)
