Our client is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join their team in Penang.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of 3 QA Engineers and 12 QA Inspectors, working together to ensure the highest quality products and total customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day quality activities, supporting Production & Engineering on the assurance of quality processes and products compliance with the Standard of Quality Management System and customer requirements.

What you'll do:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet both company standards and customer expectations. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects related to product and process quality, using your analytical skills to understand problems and develop effective solutions. Your ability to interface effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams will be crucial in addressing quality issues and failure incidences. You will also play a key role in supporting new part approval projects and transfer projects.
* Manage projects related to product and process quality
* Analyze data to understand problems and develop solutions for quality improvement projects
* Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams related to quality issues and failure incidences
* Drive issues for root cause(s), corrective action, and monitor for effectiveness
* Lead the internal team and prepare customer/Internal 8D report whenever there is a quality issue
* Support all relevant quality of new part approval project and transfer projects
* Assist in customer and third-party audit
* Perform internal audit and supplier audit when necessary
* Establish and maintain quality documents such as SOP, WI, SIP, Control Plan etc.
* Conduct training of quality related topics/ISO standard to QA Inspectors and internal team
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Quality Assurance Engineer position brings a strong background in engineering or science along with at least 3-5 years' experience in quality engineering or assurance. Your analytical problem-solving skills will be essential in understanding complex issues and developing effective solutions. Familiarity with mechanical drawing and quality core tools such as ISO9001/ISO14001 would be advantageous. Knowledge in the cable and connector industry would also be a plus.
* Degree in Engineering or Science from recognized university or related field
* At least 3 to 5 years’ of working experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
* Analytical problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of mechanical drawing, familiar with quality core tools. ISO9001/ISO14001 will be an added advantage
* Knowledge in the cable and connector industry will be an added advantage
