What you'll do:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your role will be instrumental in supporting the continuous enhancement of our client's AFM systems and hardware. You will be engaged in every stage of product development - from establishing engineering requirements to developing prototypes, preparing assembly drawings, and supporting system integration. Your exceptional problem-solving skills will be vital in assessing performance and leading technical troubleshooting. Additionally, you will compose comprehensive engineering reports, generate necessary documentation, and interact regularly with international colleagues.
* Establish engineering requirements for new projects
* Conduct mechanical design and analysis utilising 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
* Actively engage in design reviews
* Prepare component and assembly drawings
* Develop prototypes and support system integration
* Assess performance and spearhead technical troubleshooting efforts
* Compose detailed engineering reports
* Generate Bill of Materials as well as user and production documentation
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Mechanical Design Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in precision mechanical design using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) along with knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment design or factory automation. Your understanding of GD&T principles will be essential for this role. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, team-oriented, bright, creative, cooperative, and committed to quality. Clear verbal and written English communication skills are also required. Experience with ePDM or other CAD data management systems would be advantageous.
* Demonstrated experience with precision mechanical design and 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
* Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment design or factory automation
* Understanding of GD&T principles
* Strong commitment to quality and collaborative teamwork
* Clear verbal and written English communication skills
* Desirable: Experience with ePDM or other CAD data management systems
* Desirable: Knowledge of statics, mechanics, optical fundamentals, basic electronics, and materials
