Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for the success of the company by effectively managing, coordinating, supervising, and training both technical and non-technical personnel. You will be in charge of all processing and manufacturing of food products, including day-to-day scheduling, purchasing, and overseeing the production budget.
What you'll do:
As a Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of all production lines. Your duties will include planning production schedules, maintaining adequate stock levels, selecting equipment, setting quality standards, monitoring productivity rates, implementing quality control programs, liaising with different departments, teams, companies, suppliers, managers, clients, ensuring health & safety guidelines are adhered to at all times. You will also be responsible for ensuring customer orders are completed on time within budget while meeting quality standards & targets.
- Plan and draw up a production schedule
- Decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
- Select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance
- Set the quality standards
- Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers.
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Organize the repair of any damaged equipment
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
- Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
- Work with managers to implement the company’s policies and goals
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Production Manager role will bring more than five years of experience in food production responsibilities. You should have vast experience in meat processing, training procedures, purchasing procedures along with knowledge of meat processing machinery. Your strong business development skills coupled with your ability to manage time effectively solve problems will be crucial in this role. Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office E-mail related software is also required.
- More than five (5) years undertaking extensive food production responsibilities.
- Vast experiences in meat processing, training and purchasing procedures.
- Knowledge of meat processing machinery.
- Strong business development, time management, problem solving skills to evaluate alternatives provide recommendations on business issues.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in the use of Computer Program such as: Microsoft Office, E-mail related software.
