One of the leading food manufacturing companies is recruiting for an Assistant Plant Manager job to be responsible for the general management of production, maintenance, quality, warehouse and supply chain, as well as lead the dynamic and continuous improvement of the organisation. In this job, you will report directly to the Plant Manager.

About the Assistant Plant Manager Role:
The Assistant Plant Manager covers a wide range of responsibilities leading the end-to-end operations of a manufacturing plant. In this position, you will be responsible for leading all daily operations management and coordination of plant operations including production, product quality, maintenance, and warehousing to achieve optimum manufacturing safety, output, quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee production, maintenance, quality, supply chain management, packing, warehousing and distribution, health safety and environment of the plants
• Develop and manage the strategies, plans and produce as per the agreed plan with management to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company
• Set and control budgets, targets and objectives (KPIs), and providing regular reports on progress in order to achieve the overall organisational and financial objectives
• Ensure compliance with eternal regulatory agencies and organisations
• Effectively manage labour requirements, manpower planning, production planning, stock management, instrumentation calibration, plant improvement while developing innovative systems and processes
• Oversee the allocation of production personnel, material and equipment resources to meet production schedules and costs
• Manage plant capital expenditure, plant facility including maintenance and upkeeping
• Lead continuous improvement in manufacturing and business processes to improve the level of product quality, process capability, customer satisfaction and cost reduction
• Improve processes and policies in support of organisational goals, formulating and implementing departmental and organisational policies and procedures to maximise output, and monitoring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures

To succeed in this Assistant Plant Manager role, you must be technically sound in operation excellence, have strong leadership experience, and have excellent communication skills.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, food technology or related field of study
• Minimum of 10 years' work experience in operations management in the food manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, i.e., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, etc.
• Knowledge of GMP, AIB, HACCP Halal, ISO22000, FSSC 22000 and ISO standards is highly desirable
• Able to conceptualise, develop and subsequently implement best practices organisation-wide
• Able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment to drive organisational performance and excellence
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
• Open to direction and collaborative work style and committed to getting the job done
• Able to look at situations from several points of view
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
