An up-and-coming fashion products manufacturer is seeking a Production Manager to ensure the design and production activities are according to production plan and where necessary, develop and determine improvements to manufacturing techniques and processes. This role reports to the CEO.

About the Production Manager Role:
In this position, you will be accountable for ensuring that production targets are met at the most optimum rate of efficiency while maintaining employee safety, product quality and asset performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the strategies, plans and produce as per agreed plan with management to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production deadline
• Set and control budgets, targets and objectives (KPIs), and providing regular reports on progress in order to achieve the overall organisational and financial objectives
• Work with the design/fashion team during the R&D stage to make suggestions on commercial feasibility of every product produced
• Enforce a production schedule in collaboration with the design team
• Submit and coordinate orders with suppliers according to each lead time
• Keep track of each production process and ensuring it follows the determined timeline
• Source for all materials and factories in order to fulfil assortment requirements
• Prepare reasonable costing and a variety of options for product development
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure payments to suppliers are handled accordingly by Finance team
• Direct and coordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnel, implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, production quality and efficiency

To be successful in this role, you must have prior production experience within the fashion industry.

Key Requirements:

• Technical qualification in operations management or any related field of study
• At least five years’ experience in the fashion manufacturing environment
• Prior experience with textile, garment and merchandising is highly advantageous
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to train production personnel
• Ability to use MS Office package, MRP, SAP and ERP systems and also possesses analytical, creative and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
• Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
• Ability to look at situations from several points of view
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
