Our client is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Maintenance Manager to join their team in Klang. This role offers the opportunity to utilise your expertise in automation and instrumentation systems, engineering, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

You will be instrumental in ensuring all instrumentation, control and analytical systems provide optimal functionality with minimum cost of ownership. Your ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage regional contractors and suppliers will be key to your success in this role.

What you'll do:

As an Instrumentation Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all instrumentation, control- and analytical systems are functioning optimally. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of strategies for sourcing, engineering, maintaining and troubleshooting automation and instrumentation systems. Your leadership skills will be crucial in influencing on-site operations teams to improve plant asset reliability. Additionally, you will manage regional contractors and suppliers while also providing technical support to operating sites. Your role will also involve implementing strategies for sourcing, replacing, engineering, maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems.

  • Ensure all instrumentation, control and analytical systems provide adequate functionality at required reliability with minimum cost of ownership.
  • Support the implementation of a strategy for sourcing, engineering, maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems.
  • Influence on-site operations teams to improve reliability of plant assets.
  • Train, assess and certify the technical competence of Area Automation System Maintenance Engineers.
  • Manage regional contractors and suppliers.
  • Perform safety & reliability audits for automation systems and related workflows.
  • Provide Automation Systems technical support to the operating sites and the Remote Operating Centre as required.
  • Implement a strategy for the sourcing, replacement, engineering, maintenance and troubleshooting of automation and instrumentation systems.
  • Develop and/or review all major modifications and configuration changes to the automation systems.
  • Provide the site teams with necessary expert support in emergency situations.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Instrumentation Maintenance Manager position brings a wealth of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automation and instrumentation systems. You possess knowledge of control systems specifically Siemens PCS7, Siemens PLCs, gas analyser systems and LAN/WAN networks. Your strong problem-solving and project management skills will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your ability to influence and convince cross-functional teams, including superiors, will be key to your success. You also have good negotiation skills and excellent oral & written communication skills in English.
