One of Malaysia’s leading renewable energy firms is recruiting for a Head of Renewables Asset Management and O&M to ensure optimal generation performance of the company’s solar photovoltaic (PV) plants portfolio across the country. This position reports directly to the Group CEO.
About the Head of Renewables Asset Management and O&M Role: In this role, you will be responsible for the company’s service team management, project reporting, performance analysis, preventive and corrective maintenance programming, preparation of capital and O&M budgets and collaborating with the internal financial group to support their external and internal analysis and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the day to day operation of the service operation department
Prepare and implement plant operating and maintenance procedures ensuring compliance with all authorities' requirements
Recruit, select, train and manage plant operating, maintenance and administrative staff
Interface and coordinate with local customers and suppliers
Procure parts, materials, services and support resolution of technical issues
Responsible for the operation management of solar and other renewable and energy assets, including the centralised control centre
Assist solar technicians from time to time in various solar maintenance and troubleshooting activities
Ensure solar portfolio is performing at or above forecasted production. P&L responsibility for a portfolio of operating assets
Maximise the total returns for each asset through the analysis of system efficiency and identifying opportunities for improved performance
Review performance reports and project specific performance data; Investigate issues and initiate actions to improve performance
Develop and manage project budgets, models, contracts and stakeholder and customer relations
Assist the Finance and Accounting department in preparing reports, budgets for investors and lenders and resolve any issues or questions
Review, track and approve expenses incurred by assets and their agents, including external and internal charges
Manage relationships with stakeholders in solar projects, e.g. property owners
Provide timely work products to support management and reporting of operating assets
Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting department to ensure accuracy of billing to customers and resolve issues if needed
Participate in the development of an asset compliance calendar and manage and monitor compliance in all contracts and activities
To succeed in this Head of Renewables Asset Management and O&M role, you must have proven experience in service, asset/facilities management or operations within the renewable energy industry.
Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field of study
10 years of working experience handling renewables asset or facilities management
Prior experience in managing PV solar projects is ideal
Relevant experience in an operation and maintenance management position in renewable generation assets is highly advantageous
Strong analytical skills and preferable experience in budget preparation and management
Technical understanding of solar generation and energy storage
Familiarity with computerised DAS/SCADA/monitoring systems, interconnection agreements and data management
Energy or facilities asset management experience in utility scale and distributed generation solar PV
Ability to understand financial models and the potential impact of operations on investments
Ability to define issues, analyse problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound conclusions
Strong leadership, interpersonal, management and collaborative skills
Solid planning and organisation skills
Ability to look at situations from several points of view
