What you'll do:
As a Senior Industrial Engineer based in Perai, Penang, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the operational landscape of a leading manufacturing facility. Your day-to-day activities will centre around designing efficient facility layouts, analysing material flows, and implementing best practices in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. - Design and streamline facility layouts and material flow processes to enhance overall operational efficiency throughout the manufacturing site.

- Conduct detailed time and motion analyses to establish accurate performance benchmarks, supporting precise capacity planning and resource allocation.
- Develop, implement, and uphold personnel operating benchmarks that enable effective headcount management aligned with business objectives.
- Drive targeted initiatives aimed at closing capacity gaps while developing strategic approaches to elevate factory capability and output.
- Analyse existing production workflows to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, recommending actionable improvements for sustained productivity gains.
- Lead manufacturing efficiency programmes focused on boosting productivity, optimising workforce deployment, and maximising equipment utilisation across the site.
- Contribute actively to long-term strategic initiatives including site expansion planning and future infrastructure development projects.
- Review technical documents alongside production requirements to gain a comprehensive understanding of current manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, operations, and quality assurance—to achieve shared operational goals and execute assigned tasks effectively.

- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering coupled with at least seven years’ experience in Lean Six Sigma or Industrial Engineering roles within manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean manufacturing concepts as well as practical application of Lean tools; familiarity with Six Sigma DMAIC methodology is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Methods-Time Measurement (MTM), capacity planning techniques, and headcount management strategies tailored for large-scale operations.
- Advanced analytical skills supported by hands-on experience with workflow time studies, process balancing methods, ergonomic standards, and related requirements.
- Competence in using industrial engineering software—especially those used for layout drawing—and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written communication abilities complemented by clear verbal communication skills suitable for cross-functional collaboration.
- Resourceful approach to problem-solving combined with initiative-taking behaviour that ensures timely execution of assigned projects.
