Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with managers and engineers to implement best-in-class standards across all aspects of production. You will champion continuous improvement initiatives that streamline processes, reduce costs, and elevate manufacturing capabilities. By leveraging your expertise in lean methodologies and cross-functional teamwork, you will ensure that every aspect of factory operations—from space planning to budget management—contributes positively to the company’s overarching mission. Your ability to analyse complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and inspire your team will be crucial in maintaining high standards of quality while driving sustainable growth.

  • Oversee and guide an industrial engineering team comprising managers and engineers, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and fostering a culture of achievement.
  • Establish, review, and manage standardised industrial engineering procedures while guiding the team to maintain compliance with best practices.
  • Develop and implement robust systems for standard capacity planning, manpower calculation, and working hours management to optimise resource utilisation.
  • Lead efforts to identify areas for process improvement by assigning appropriate team members to spearhead targeted projects that enhance productivity.
  • Plan and monitor manufacturing budgets by reviewing product standard costs, analysing variances, and implementing strategies for ongoing cost reduction.
  • Break down quarterly and monthly cost management objectives into actionable plans while continuously seeking opportunities for financial optimisation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to factory operations and drive improvements in reporting systems to ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Review and approve documentation releases within configuration management systems while supporting automation initiatives for enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Lead or support special assignments as directed by upper management, providing detailed project reports and recommendations for further enhancements.
  • Strategically plan factory space usage by optimising layouts for material flow, personnel movement, and overall space utilisation to maximise performance.

What you bring:

To excel as an Industrial Engineering Director in this organisation, you will bring extensive leadership experience from multinational manufacturing settings where you have successfully managed large teams through periods of transformation. Your background should reflect deep familiarity with lean principles as well as hands-on involvement in cost control measures.

  • A master’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering is highly desirable; candidates with significant professional experience holding a bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
  • More than 15 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering or lean manufacturing management within multinational companies is essential for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated project management experience within large-scale manufacturing environments is highly valued.
  • Exceptional analytical skills combined with initiative and creativity are required to identify opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure in challenging environments while maintaining strong communication skills across diverse teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing cost analysis techniques with a track record of successful cost reduction initiatives.
  • Advanced logical thinking abilities paired with strategic planning acumen are necessary for effective decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels.
  • Experience working effectively within cross-organisational, cross-cultural global teams is vital for fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
