A leading beverage manufacturing company is seeking a Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager job to lead and establish a culture of zero losses and accidents, while simultaneously striving for a 100% customer service Level. In this job, you will report to the Plant Director.
About the CI Manager Role: In this position, you will be accountable for leading and executing a development plan by building capability across different levels of the organisation, for the front line and support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement process enhancement plans, from lever diagnostics to ideation, through process improvements, and capital projects
Support financial evaluations for items in the CI pipeline, capital projects, new item costing, and related matters
Develop training materials for Lean processes and principles to ensure front-line operators adhere to the company's Lean standards
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders, employees, and customers to identify areas with significant potential for Lean improvements throughout the organisation
Oversee the development and maintenance of methods and systems to measure and ensure project goals, objectives, and metrics are achieved and maintained
Establish metrics, deployment goals, and objectives to promote accountability throughout the organisation
Manage the entire life cycle of Lean programmes, from initiation to successful implementation
Lead and facilitate the execution of Lean projects that support cost reduction and safety objectives
Monitor the activity levels of continuous improvement teams and team champions, promptly notifying management if additional support is needed to achieve desired results
Stay updated on the latest developments in lean performance principles and practices, and ensure the organisation remains well-informed
Efficiently organise, plan, review, and report on the status of managed projects
Exemplify operational excellence by visibly demonstrating leadership and change management behaviours
To be successful in this CI Manager role, you must have at least five years of process improvement experience within the FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in engineering or any technical field of study
At least five years of production experience in the FMCG manufacturing industry
Good understanding of value stream mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM and other process improvement methodologies
Knowledge in ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO22000
Knowledge in GMP, HACCP and other document management systems
Good understanding of KPIs, focusing on key objectives and delivering results that meet or exceed expectations
An innovative mindset to develop new insights into organisation improving solutions
Strong knowledge of analysis methods involving the measure of process capabilities
Ability to interact and build relationships with all personnel, including those from other departments while motivating and inspiring team members
