About the Lead Piping & Layout Engineer Role:
Reporting directly to the Asia Piping & Layout Manager, this position plays a critical role in leading a team of piping engineers in overseeing the piping design functional activities on global capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and perform diverse aspects of piping design, encompassing arrangements, isometric drawings, piping lists, BOM preparation, support drawings, and insulation standards
• Coordinate and communicate technical matters among various groups, including company engineering centres in the US and Europe, and local design institutes
• Review and provide feedback on piping basic and detailed design drawings and specifications completed by LDI or vendors
• Demonstrate proficiency in APCI engineering piping standards, specifications, international industry piping engineering codes, and local codes
• Support project proposal estimation, project execution, commissioning, and start-up phases
• Provide on-site support for piping construction, address technical issues, and offer resolution suggestions
• Maintain and enhance piping design work processes, ensuring appropriate implementation
• Act as a consultant in piping/equipment arrangement engineering, coaching junior piping designers
• Determine design strategies, consult on engineering codes and principles, and contribute to project execution and commercial strategies
• Establish project piping design plans and schedules, report design status and issues, and ensure schedule adherence with high-quality deliverables
• Lead problem-solving efforts on significant issues and contribute to the development of AP piping-related standards and procedures
• Collaborate with project development engineers (PDE) and commercial teams to efficiently support new bidding opportunities
• Develop functional design execution strategies, design schedules/deliverables, and specific instructions and procedures as needed
• Manage third parties for outsourced engineering and design, ensuring changes align with project procedures
• Identify, record, and communicate lessons learned for engineering, and take ownership of issues without assuming others will address them
• Manage multi-regional teams to successfully deliver projects and instil accountability within the teams

To succeed in this Lead Piping & Layout Engineer role, you will need to have a minimum of five years of experience in managing solar system projects by leading a group of project engineers.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interactions and internal collaboration
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in engineering and design
• Thorough understanding of local and international design standards and codes
• Demonstrated success in managing piping and/or cross-functional activities within process plants
• Experience in engineering procurement and construction (EPC), industrial gases, or petrochemical projects
• Strong organisational, communication, and facilitation skills
• Ability to unite teams to achieve project targets and goals effectively
• Exhibits good commercial awareness and adeptness in managing change
• Preference for experience in process plant construction, with substantial time spent at construction sites
