A leading organisation in Sungai Buloh is seeking a Sustainability Assistant Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing their sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda. This position offers you the chance to make a genuine impact by supporting lifecycle refrigerant management, driving environmental advocacy, and contributing to ESG and sustainability reporting.

You will be part of a collaborative team that values your expertise and encourages knowledge sharing across departments, government bodies, NGOs, and industry partners. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where your ideas are valued, and your professional growth is supported through ongoing training opportunities. If you are passionate about creating positive change and thrive in a setting that celebrates achievements and supports flexible working arrangements, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

  • You will have the opportunity to work closely with diverse teams and external partners, ensuring that sustainability initiatives are both impactful and aligned with strategic goals.
  • The organisation provides a supportive environment with access to training opportunities, enabling you to further develop your skills in environmental management and sustainability reporting.

What you'll do:

As Sustainability Assistant Manager, you will be at the heart of the organisation’s mission to create lasting environmental impact. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with various internal teams as well as external partners to ensure that sustainability initiatives are executed seamlessly. You will be responsible for managing projects related to refrigerant lifecycle management while keeping abreast of regulatory changes and technological advancements. By analysing data and preparing detailed reports for compliance purposes, you will help shape decision-making processes that support long-term sustainability goals. Additionally, you will play a key role in communicating research findings through compelling narratives that engage both staff members and the broader community. Your ability to lead events and awareness campaigns will further reinforce the organisation’s reputation as a champion of environmental stewardship.

  • Support the execution of comprehensive sustainability and CSR initiatives that align with the organisation’s strategic vision and meet all relevant compliance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple departments as well as external stakeholders such as government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and industry partners to deliver projects that drive real change.
  • Champion lifecycle refrigerant management projects by ensuring regulatory requirements are met and decarbonisation targets remain on track.
  • Gather, organise, and analyse sustainability metrics for use in internal reports, ISO management systems documentation, and regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Monitor project progress from initial concept through to successful completion, ensuring all key milestones are achieved and celebrated within the team.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in sustainability policies, technologies, and market opportunities; proactively translate these insights into actionable strategies for the organisation.
  • Transform research findings into engaging communications that inspire both internal teams and the wider community about sustainability efforts.
  • Lead events, campaigns, and awareness programmes designed to showcase the organisation’s commitment to building a sustainable future.

What you bring:

To excel as Sustainability Assistant Manager, you will bring extensive experience in environmental management coupled with advanced knowledge of refrigerant lifecycle practices. Your academic background should include relevant degrees or certifications that demonstrate your commitment to professional development within this field. You will possess strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets used in compliance reporting while also being adept at communicating technical information in accessible formats. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues across departments as well as external partners from government agencies or NGOs. Experience working on multi-stakeholder projects—especially those involving public-private collaboration—will be invaluable for driving successful outcomes. Above all else, your passion for environmental advocacy combined with your ability to stay current on industry trends will set you apart as an indispensable member of the team.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required; additional certifications in GHG accounting, ISO 14064, or sustainability reporting are highly regarded.
  • At least eight years of experience working in environmental management, sustainability programmes, or ESG roles—preferably within HVAC, manufacturing, or built environment sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lifecycle refrigerant management practices along with familiarity with relevant regulations governing this area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methodologies including refrigerant lifecycle impacts using frameworks such as GHG Protocol & ISO 14064.
  • Experience preparing sustainability reports using carbon accounting tools as well as climate-related financial disclosure frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement abilities with proven success collaborating on public-private partnerships involving multiple interest groups.
