A leading personal care company is recruiting for an Health, Safety Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee the organisation’s compliance to HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. In this job, you will report directly to the Plant Manager.

About the HSE Manager Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for the achievement of the plant’s targets and objectives in the areas of Safety, Health and Environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise the appropriate measures to be taken in the interest of the health, safety and environment of staff
• Conduct workplace inspection to determine potential hazards and risks
• Investigate any accidents, near-misses, occupational diseases and occurrence for reporting to DOSH
• Assist in organising HSE Committee and implementing HSE programs in accordance to local legislation and company’s HSE policy
• Collect, analyse and maintain statistics on accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational diseases and waste generation
• Compile scheduled waste inventory and consignment notes for DOE submission

To succeed in this HSE Manager role, you will need to have at least 15 years' HSE management experience within the manufacturing industry.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant safety and health field of study
• Certificate in Safety and Health Officer from NIOSH
• Registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH
• 10 years' HSE experience within the manufacturing industry, and a proven track record of five years in a leadership role
• Self-starter, independent and operationally hands-on
• Strong leadership and problem solving
• Assertive, possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong interest in HSE field
