A reputable FMCG manufacturing company is currently recruiting for a Corporate SHE Manager job to drive change in safety culture and ensure SHE compliance on a corporate level.

About the Corporate SHE Manager Role:
In this Corporate SHE Manager position, you will ensure that the corporate management team takes the forefront in every facet of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) by creating and spearheading strategic endeavours that foster ongoing enhancement in SHE outcomes, aligning with the company’s Operational Excellence philosophy of achieving zero accidents and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the development and execution of the Business’ Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) strategy and programme
• Advise on SHE objectives aligned with corporate goals
• Monitor and communicate performance data to enhance informed SHE-related decision-making and seamless integration of SHE culture into business choices
• Ensure strict adherence to all company principles, policies, and mandates pertaining to safety, health, and environment
• Ensure compliance with legal SHE requirements and that all SHE related communications adhere to the group’s policy
• Implement, oversee, sustain, and enhance suitable SHE Management systems at business level
• Create and deploy specific tools and initiatives to step up SHE awareness and attain objectives
• Provide guidance and assistance to corporate functions, Plant Managers, and Plant SHE Managers to meet the corporate SHE goals
• Foster a culture where SHE is an integral responsibility of line management, with emphasis on behaviour-based safety (BBS) and cultural alignment
• Act as the company’s representative in external industry forums, standards-setting bodies, and regulatory associations, advocating for the company’s interests and perspectives to be considered in the decision-making process

To succeed in this Corporate SHE Manager position, you will need to have the ability to engage with senior management stakeholders and practise a hands-on approach to SHE matters across several plants.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Engineering or relevant discipline
• At least 10 years’ experience in health, safety, security and environment management within the manufacturing environment
• Possess knowledge in Safety laws, regulations, codes and best management practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
• Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment
• Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
• Ability to look at situations from several points of view
• Demonstrated leadership ability
