This role offers you the chance to work within a supportive and knowledgeable team, contributing to projects that make a real difference in security and safety. You will benefit from flexible working opportunities, ongoing training, and the chance to collaborate with both internal teams and external partners. The organisation is committed to nurturing talent, encouraging professional growth, and fostering an inclusive environment where your skills are valued and developed. If you are looking for a position that combines technical challenge with genuine career progression, this is the perfect next step.

  • Work on impactful perimeter protection projects across the APAC region, collaborating closely with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customer teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements and continuous training opportunities designed to support your professional development and personal growth within a dependable and inclusive team.
  • Be part of a network that values knowledge sharing, supportive leadership, and teamwork, ensuring you have the resources needed to succeed in your role as a Mechanical Project Engineer.

What you'll do:

As a Mechanical Project Engineer based in Malaysia, you will play a pivotal role in shaping perimeter protection projects from conception through delivery. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve creating precise technical documentation using industry-standard CAD software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will collaborate extensively with internal departments such as sales, marketing, and manufacturing while also engaging directly with customers to provide expert guidance on design specifications, cost estimations, installation procedures, and after-sales support. Your analytical skills will be put to use when reviewing project requirements and performing strength calculations to ensure all solutions meet rigorous safety standards. Additionally, you will contribute to product testing initiatives that uphold quality benchmarks for production units. By supporting bid processes and maintaining accurate SAP records—including bills of materials—you will help drive successful project outcomes. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly will be essential when presenting solutions or transferring product knowledge during site visits across the APAC region.

  • Create and verify comprehensive technical documentation using SolidWorks while adhering to PLM and Customer Engineering processes, focusing on site layouts and designs for perimeter protection solutions.
  • Provide detailed technical support including drawings, cost estimations, booking guidelines, and after-sales service advice to both internal teams such as sales and marketing as well as external customers and partners.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain SAP codes with accurate bill of materials, manufacturing routings, and master data information to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Support the bid and quote process by preparing product specifications and cost estimates that align with customer requirements and group product strategy.
  • Analyse customer perimeter protection needs from project specification documents, propose robust solutions in compliance with project standards, and present these effectively to clients.
  • Generate detailed bills of materials for each project order to guarantee product compatibility throughout the lifecycle of the solution.
  • Perform strength calculations on project-specific products such as wind load assessments to ensure structural integrity under various conditions.
  • Conduct product testing and validation activities to confirm quality standards are met for production units including welding machines and coating lines.
  • Communicate the value proposition of company solutions clearly while partnering with sales teams to influence customer requirements positively.
  • Support manufacturing operations by providing production specifications, installation manuals, packaging instructions, welding plans, and other essential technical documents.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Project Engineer position will bring proven experience from mechanical or civil engineering roles where collaborative teamwork was central to success. Your background should include hands-on involvement with perimeter protection projects or similar security-focused initiatives. You will possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to connect effectively with colleagues from different departments as well as external stakeholders. Your proficiency in CAD software—particularly SolidWorks—and your familiarity with technical drawing conventions will allow you to produce high-quality documentation efficiently. Experience supporting end-users through proposal development or training sessions demonstrates your commitment to customer satisfaction. Fluency in English ensures clear communication within multicultural environments; additional language skills are appreciated but not required. A willingness to travel regionally reflects your dedication to sharing knowledge across networks. Above all else, your dependability combined with an eagerness for ongoing learning makes you an invaluable member of any engineering team.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering or a related discipline is required for this position.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in mechanical or civil engineering is necessary; prior exposure to perimeter industry projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams while showing self-discipline and enthusiasm for learning new skills quickly.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; additional fluency in Chinese would be considered an asset for communicating across diverse teams.
  • Minimum two years’ experience interfacing directly with end-users on project support activities such as proposals, presentations, training sessions, discussions, or troubleshooting issues.
  • Advanced skills in solid modelling, assemblies creation, drawings/detailing within CAD software—especially SolidWorks and AutoCAD—are mandatory for success in this role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technical drawing principles as well as construction methodologies is expected from candidates applying for this position.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required for effective communication and documentation.
  • Ability to perform strength calculations (such as wind load assessments) or structural foundation analyses would be advantageous but not strictly mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel across APAC sites for project visits is important; experience transferring product knowledge to installers or customers is highly valued.
