Our client is a global leader in food ingredient manufacturing, with a significant presence in the Southeast Asia region. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical and Maintenance Lead to support their growth strategy and this role will be based in their Kuala Lumpur manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Manufacturing in organising and leading site, assets, and resource maintenance initiatives and tasks.
What you'll do:
As a Mechanical and Maintenance Lead, your primary responsibility will be to support the Head of Manufacturing in ensuring that all aspects of the site's operations run smoothly. You will take on a leadership role, championing safety measures, overseeing machine operation and maintenance, and coordinating capital expenditure projects. Additionally, you will manage utilities at the site. Your role will be pivotal to the company's growth strategy, as you help to ensure that the Kuala Lumpur manufacturing plant operates efficiently and effectively.
- Support the Head of Manufacturing in organising and leading site, assets, and resource maintenance initiatives and tasks.
- Ensure safety, reliability, quality, and output at or below budgeted cost.
- Lead Mechanical Safety-Champion.
- Lead Mechanical Machine Operation and Maintenance.
- PM and PdM Lead-Mechanical.
- Overall CAPEX Coordinator-Project Manager.
- Utility Management.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Mechanical and Maintenance Lead position brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. With a technical degree in Engineering or a related field, you have developed strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills over at least 5-7 years of maintenance engineering experience within the food or pharma industry. A Master’s Degree with PMP certification would be advantageous. Your excellent interpersonal skills enable you to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation. You are also adept at resource scheduling and budget management.
- Technical Degree - Engineering or relevant experience with high business ethical behaviour.
- Master’s Degree is preferred with PMP certification.
- Minimum 5-7 years of maintenance engineering experience within the food or pharma industry preferred.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem diagnosis and solving skills.
- Experience with Resource Scheduling and in both developing and meeting a budget.
- Good interpersonal, effective communication, and networking skills.
