What you'll do:

As a Chargeman based in Selangor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and safety of all building services within the facility. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing installation projects, conducting thorough maintenance routines, troubleshooting complex electrical issues, and collaborating with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies. You will be instrumental in monitoring energy consumption trends across the plant, proactively addressing potential risks through preventive measures. By supervising contractors and facility staff with care and attention to detail, you will help maintain a safe working environment for everyone involved. Your ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management will enable you to foster strong relationships that contribute positively to the overall success of the organisation.

• Take responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical wiring systems, air-conditioning systems, firefighting systems, as well as other essential building services within the facility.
• Liaise effectively with utility providers such as TNB, DOSH, SYABAS, JKKP, and other regulatory bodies to ensure seamless utility services and strict compliance with relevant regulations.
• Monitor total facility maintenance of the factory including both civil works and electrical systems to guarantee optimal operational efficiency.
• Conduct regular monitoring, trending, and tracking of daily power consumption throughout the plant while initiating preventive maintenance measures to minimise equipment breakdowns and power failures.
• Respond promptly to all power or machine failures, short circuits, or trips by diagnosing issues accurately and implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure that all new installations and maintenance activities are carried out safely, correctly, and in accordance with legal requirements.
• Develop contingency plans for major faults and temporary usage of electrical systems to maintain uninterrupted operations during emergencies.
• Carry out periodic inspections and maintenance of air systems, air conditioning units, and fire fighting equipment to uphold safety standards.
• Supervise Facility Team members and contractors closely to ensure their work complies with safety regulations at all times while fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
• Promote open communication within the team to facilitate knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving.

What you bring:

Your extensive experience as a Chargeman will allow you to excel in this role by bringing together technical know-how with interpersonal sensitivity. With your certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga BO — 33kV, you possess the qualifications needed to manage complex electrical systems safely. Your background in facilities maintenance equips you with practical skills for troubleshooting issues quickly while minimising downtime. Fluency in both Bahasa Malaysia and English enables you to connect easily with diverse teams as well as regulatory authorities. Your history of supervising others responsibly reflects your commitment to creating a safe workplace where everyone can thrive. • Possession of a certificate authorised by Suruhanjaya Tenaga BO — 33kV is mandatory for this position as it demonstrates your technical proficiency in handling high-voltage electrical systems.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in a related field is required so that you can bring proven expertise in facilities maintenance or machinery repair.
• Excellent command of both Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential for clear communication with colleagues at all levels as well as external stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management ensures smooth coordination across departments when addressing operational needs or compliance matters.
• Experience as a Senior Executive specialising in Maintenance/Repair (Facilities & Machinery) or equivalent is highly desirable for this role.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety regulations when supervising teams or contractors highlights your responsible approach towards workplace wellbeing.
• Proven track record in developing contingency plans for major faults shows your capacity for forward-thinking problem prevention.
• Strong organisational skills are necessary for monitoring daily power consumption trends and scheduling preventive maintenance activities efficiently.
