We are seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Site General Manager to oversee their operations in Penang, Malaysia reporting to the Group President. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, managing the design, manufacturing, and delivery of products to a global clientele. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to set strategic objectives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and improving gross margins.
What you'll do:
As the Site General Manager, your role will be crucial in managing our client's site operations in Penang. You will be responsible for providing direct technical and managerial oversight of manufacturing and product testing, as well as regional supply chain management. Your excellent leadership skills will be utilised as you manage a diverse team of professionals across assembly, test, manufacturing and test engineering, supply chain and logistics. Your ability to set strategic objectives will be key in driving continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiencies.
- Oversee all aspects of the operations and plants in Penang, Malaysia
- Provide direct technical and managerial oversight of manufacturing and product testing, regional supply chain management, and import/export compliance
- Work closely with business, engineering and manufacturing leadership from various divisions to set manufacturing and supply chain strategic objectives
- Incorporate group best practices where appropriate (e.g., lean manufacturing methodologies, factory consolidations)
- Manage assembly, test, manufacturing and test engineering, supply chain and logistics personnel
- Establish processes consistent across the group to drive continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiencies

- Minimum 15 years of experience managing multiple manufacturing and production operations leading multidisciplinary teams with experiences in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience directly managing high-tech manufacturing of complex electro-mechanical assemblies
- Thorough knowledge of World Class Manufacturing systems and methods
- Experience communicating with multiple divisions in a multinational corporation
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the management team to annually set SMART operations objectives
