Our client is seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to join their team in Penang. This role is integral to the support of their High Data Rate (HDR) Cable Assembly Work Center, focusing on all Cable Electrical Testing processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, designing test tooling assemblies, reviewing PCB designs, and creating process documentation. This role offers an exciting chance to cooperate with global teams, maintain product serialization systems, and contribute to sustaining improvement projects.
What you'll do:
As an Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the HDR Cable Assembly Work Center. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing test tooling assemblies, reviewing PCB designs, creating process documentation, and qualifying test programs. You will also be tasked with cooperating with various teams to assemble, debug, and qualify new test systems. Additionally, you will provide crucial support on the production floor by troubleshooting low and high-speed test systems. Your expertise will be invaluable in performing failure analysis of failed products and determining root causes. Furthermore, you will cooperate with global teams to maintain the product serialization system and partake in transfer projects & sustaining improvement projects.
- Design Test Tooling assemblies for Electrical Test First Time Build of cable assemblies
- Review the design of printed circuit boards and fixtures for Electrical Test of First Time Build of HDR cable product and feedback findings to designer
- Create Process Documentation for Electrical Test processes
- Create and qualify Test Programs for Electrical Test
- Cooperate with SIG ATG to assemble, debug, qualify new Test Systems
- Support production floor for troubleshooting Low and High-Speed Test systems
- Perform failure analysis of Electrical Test failed product and determine root cause with support from Global teams
- Cooperate with global teams to maintain product serialization system
- Part number creation and configuration in serialization and tracking software
- Cooperate with control engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer for transfer project & sustaining improvement project on Electrical Test side
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Test Engineer position brings more than two years of experience in PCB board design and a familiarity with LSET, HSET, and signal integrity tests. You have proven experience in engineering design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Knowledge of the PCB manufacturing process will be advantageous. Your ability to create and maintain serialization scripting sets you apart. Above all, your strong interpersonal, technical, verbal, and written communication skills will be key to your success in this role.
- Above 2 years related working experience on PCB board design
- Familiarity with LSET, HSET, signal integrity test
- Experience in engineering design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc)
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process is a plus
- Experience in creating and maintaining serialization scripting
- Strong interpersonal, technical, verbal, and written communication skills are a must
