Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Process Automation Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to develop, implement, maintain, troubleshoot and refine new and existing advanced process control (APCS) solutions that result in process optimisation and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have the chance to share global best operation practices and work with on-site operations teams to analyse gaps and plan improvements to achieve operational productivity.

What you'll do:

As a Process Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and refining new and existing advanced process control (APCS) solutions. You will be responsible for leading the implementation of Advanced Process Control Systems on plants. Your role will involve close collaboration with operations and performance teams to identify opportunities for system refinement. You will also provide technical support for new and ongoing APCS projects while developing specifications and protocols in APCS solutions.

  • Lead and implement Advance Process Control Systems on plants
  • Work closely with operations and performance teams to identify opportunities for refining the system in place
  • Review P&ID & control philosophy, develop logic, configure hardware, tune control loops, DCS Programming
  • Maintain and upkeep of the APCS system ensuring utilization KPI is met
  • Provide technical support for new and ongoing APCS projects
  • Develop specifications and protocols in APCS solutions
  • Identify shortcomings in existing APC based regulatory control system and implement improvements
  • Develop and maintain standards and systems for APC applications

What you bring:

The ideal Process Automation Engineer candidate will bring a wealth of experience in DCS Programming, Logic development & implementation, and Process control engineering. You will have a strong understanding of process operations and an ability to troubleshoot and maintain Siemens PCS7 and Server configuration. Your knowledge of APCS solutions and its functions, as well as your detailed understanding of Siemens PCS7 control systems, will be crucial to your success in this role. Your advanced computing skills, coupled with your strong analytical abilities, will enable you to deliver effective, innovative solutions.

  • Experience in DCS Programming, Logic development & implementation, Process control engineering
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of Siemens PCS7, Server configuration
  • Experience in process operations, understanding of process flow, operational controls, commissioning and optimisation of a typical Cryogenic air separation /chemical/ gas plant
  • Knowledge of APCS (LMPC & MPC) solutions and its functions, and its control systems [CAPSTONE MACS SUITES/ ASPEN DMC]
  • Detailed knowledge of Siemens PCS7 control systems [knowledge of Siemens TI545, Wonderware, Rockwell will have an added advantage]
  • Extensive knowledge about control and advanced control engineering. Knowledge on controller tuning
  • Advanced computing Skills (Excel/Process Simulation/Optimisation/ Mini Tab)
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to deliver effective, innovative solution
  • Fluency in English language with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge about programming languages like C, C++, Python, Java, MATLAB will carry added advantage in the selection process
