Our client is seeking a highly experienced Project Director (Construction) to join their team in Penang, Malaysia. What you'll do:
As a Project Director (Construction), you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, ensuring that it meets high-quality standards and is completed within the set timescales. You will make strategic decisions and provide leadership to your team of project managers. Your excellent interpersonal skills will be crucial in building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders. You will devise cost-effective plans for effective project completion and manage risks to avoid any delays or reputational damage. Your role will also involve securing permits and legal papers ahead of the project, supervising project managers, conducting monthly reviews, and ensuring that the project complies with regulations and internal policies.

What you bring:
As a Project Director (Construction), you bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role. Your registration as a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) further attests to your technical expertise. As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), you have a proven track record in managing complex projects, particularly those related to airport development. Your excellent communication skills enable you to present ideas clearly and effectively, while your knowledge of engineering-related aspects, including local and international laws and regulations, ensures that all projects are compliant. Your experience in planning, design, operations & maintenance of Airport Systems is a significant asset to the role.
- Degree in Engineering with minimum 15 years experience in Project Management in building and construction
- Professional Engineer registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified is a plus
- Proven track record in managing complex projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge in engineering related aspects including local and international laws and regulations
- Experience in planning, design, operations & maintenance of airport system is an added advantage
- Ability to write technical reports and program documents
