About the Senior Building Engineer (Hong Kong) Role:
Functionally and administratively reporting directly to the Manager (Building Engineering), this position plays a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity, quality, and safety of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and implement quality plans that align with structural requirements. Ensure that all construction activities adhere to the highest quality standards
• Prepare comprehensive designs for temporary structures and provide expert guidance on structural matters. Develop method statements to ensure the safe and efficient execution of temporary works
• Attend regular site meetings, engaging with architects, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders. Identify potential engineering challenges and proactively propose well-founded solutions to address them
• Supervise and conduct inspections of construction works and materials. Verify that all work complies with project specifications and regulatory guidelines
• Generate detailed technical documents, including master programs, reports, and technical sketches. These documents are vital for tracking project progress and communicating updates effectively
• Continuously monitor and assess site progress. Prepare and share site progress reports to keep stakeholders informed, promptly addressing any deviations from the project plan
• Establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders such as architects, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Collaborate on technical matters and swiftly resolve any construction-related issues
• Assist in managing contractual claims related to technical matters, providing technical expertise to support dispute resolution when necessary
• Actively participate in implementing the Site Safety Supervision Plan to ensure that safety protocols are diligently followed on-site, fostering a secure working environment
• Fulfil the role of a Technically Competent Person (TCP) as specified in the Site Safety Supervision Plan. Oversee specific technical aspects of safety compliance to maintain a safe working environment
  
  

To succeed in the Senior Building Engineer (Hong Kong) role, you will need to have a minimum of three years of experience in various technical aspects, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to the successful execution of projects from inception to completion.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of three years' relevant experience in major civil or building projects
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Cantonese, English
• Readiness to relocate to Hong Kong for the position
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent project management and organisational
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, Microsoft Projects and other engineering software programmes
• Ability to manage, construct and qualify Gantt Chart, Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS), Critical Path Analysis (CPA), Programme Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) and Graphical Evaluation and Review Technique (GERT)
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Possess strong troubleshooting and analytical approach to problem-solving
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration, especially in Cantonese
