Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treasury Analyst to join a highly respected organisation in Penang, where your expertise will be valued and your professional growth supported.

This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative Corporate Treasury Team, contributing to essential financial operations that underpin the success of the business. You will enjoy flexible working opportunities and exposure to a wide range of treasury functions, including cash management, forecasting, credit collection, foreign exchange processing, and insurance activities. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where your interpersonal skills and attention to detail will be appreciated. With supportive leadership and ongoing training opportunities, you will have the resources needed to thrive and develop your career in treasury.

What you'll do:

As a Treasury Analyst based in Penang, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Treasury Team’s daily operations. Your responsibilities will span across various aspects of treasury management—from handling secure access on bank portals to processing wire transfers that keep financial transactions running smoothly. You’ll be involved in both short- and long-term intercompany settlements while also taking part in crucial cash management activities such as consolidating daily balances, forecasting future cash flows, and preparing comprehensive reports for quarterly or annual reviews. During audit periods, your ability to respond thoughtfully to auditor queries and implement their recommendations will help reinforce robust financial controls. You’ll contribute towards developing effective treasury policies while supporting risk management efforts aimed at minimising currency and interest rate exposures. Your role will also include assisting with credit collection processes when needed, performing detailed insurance analyses, managing premium allocations, and supporting the administration of the corporate card programme. Special projects may arise from time to time, offering further opportunities for you to expand your skillset within this dynamic environment.

  • Assist in placing and maintaining online access control across multiple bank portals, ensuring secure and efficient banking operations.
  • Process daily wire transfers for cash transactions with accuracy and timeliness, supporting smooth financial flows within the organisation.
  • Support short- and long-term intercompany settlements and transactions by coordinating with relevant teams and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Contribute to cash management activities such as daily cash consolidation, preparing cash flow forecasts, and compiling quarterly or annual cash reporting documentation.
  • Participate actively during audits by responding to auditor queries and implementing recommended follow-up actions post-audit to strengthen controls.
  • Assist in developing and ensuring compliance with treasury policies, procedures, controls, and reporting standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Support risk management initiatives by identifying strategies to minimise foreign currency and interest rate exposures through careful analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide assistance with credit collection tasks when required, helping maintain healthy receivables for the organisation.
  • Perform insurance-related activities including addressing coverage questions, allocating premiums appropriately, analysing insurance exposures, and managing applications.
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations of the corporate card programme by assisting with administration tasks and resolving queries as they arise.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Treasury Analyst position brings proven experience in finance or economics along with hands-on exposure to core treasury functions. Your background enables you to navigate complex financial environments with ease while maintaining a high level of accuracy in every task. You are known for your dependability—whether working independently or as part of a team—and your strong interpersonal skills foster positive relationships throughout the organisation. Your proficiency with technology allows you to handle sensitive data securely while producing clear reports that inform decision-making at all levels. Adaptability is key; you are comfortable adjusting your schedule when necessary to support international operations. Above all, your commitment to continuous learning ensures that you remain knowledgeable about best practices in treasury management while embracing new challenges as they arise.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or another business-related field is required for this position.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years’ relevant experience in treasury functions demonstrates your understanding of key financial processes.
  • Your analytical skills enable you to interpret complex data sets accurately while solving problems efficiently within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities allow you to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office Suite ensures you can manage data securely and present information clearly.
  • Your capacity for independent work means you can assume ownership of programmes while remaining dependable within a team setting.
  • Project leadership skills equip you to guide special initiatives or improvements within treasury operations as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexibly—including occasional US time zone hours—shows your commitment to supporting global business needs.
