An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Treasury Analyst to join a leading international research organisation in Penang.

This role is based in the vibrant city of Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in transforming aquatic food systems to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and poverty. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse team across multiple continents, contributing to building a food- and nutrition-secure future and restoring natural resources.

What you'll do:

As a Treasury Analyst, you will be entrusted with overseeing cash-flow activities including cash-flow forecast, supervision of the organisation's banking accounts movements, optimising foreign exchange activities, monitoring third parties’ funds and ensuring compliance with financial policies. You will also play a key role in ensuring master data quality is optimal. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing daily banking activities, preparing cash flow forecasts, reviewing banking fees, managing multi-currency funds, supervising accounting documents, developing treasury reports, and supporting the development of treasury operational policies.

  • Manage daily banking activities and maintain strong relationships with domestic and global banks.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational and capital investment needs.
  • Review and analyze banking fees and interest rates to identify cost reductions.
  • Manage multi-currency funds to mitigate loss from foreign currency exposure.
  • Ensure standard exchange rates for the organization are prepared accurately.
  • Supervise and ensure the validity of all accounting documents posted globally in the accounting system.
  • Develop and prepare treasury and receivables reports.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of Trade and Non-Trade receivables.
  • Support in the development and updating of treasury operational policies.

What you bring:

As our ideal Treasury Analyst, you bring a wealth of experience in financial control and management functions. With your Master/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an internationally recognised institute, you have spent at least five years honing your skills in financial control. Your multi-country experience gives you a unique perspective on global finance operations. Your demonstrated knowledge in non-profit financial accounting, planning and budgeting sets you apart from others. Your high level of analytical skills related to financial management and control will be crucial in this role. Your proficiency in English, both written and oral, will enable you to communicate effectively with our diverse team.

  • Master/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with membership in an internationally recognised accounting institute.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years demonstrated management experience in financial control and management functions.
  • Multi-country experience is essential; experience at a regional or global level highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in non-profit financial accounting, planning and budgeting.
  • High level of analytical skills related to financial management and control.
  • Proficient in English language both in writing and oral.
  • Sound knowledge on income tax and VAT computation.
