About the VP, Carbon Market Expert Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for facilitating market building of the local carbon project development ecosystem to secure medium to long-term supply of high-quality carbon credits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and map key challenges in the Malaysian carbon project development ecosystem
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to address challenges to develop different types of carbon projects (e.g. forestry, technology, etc.) in Malaysia raised by project developers
- Source for and maximise supply of carbon credits
- Monitor carbon market trends (e.g. market demand) with Carbon Product Developer to identify high-quality/premium project types that could be developed in Malaysia
To succeed in the VP, Carbon Market Expert role, you will need to maintain a close working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or related subject
- 10 - 17 years of experience in related field including prior involvement and strong network in local/SEA carbon project development (e.g. carbon and/or CDM project developer, NGO/technical consultant, VVBs)
- Preferably has worked closely with relevant Malaysian ministries (e.g. KeTSA, KASA) and state governments
