A new Senior Associate, Private Equity Portfolio Management job has surfaced at a regional private equity firm based in Kuala Lumpur. This role will be responsible to manage the firm's portfolio companies and value creation by formulating transformation plans.
About the Senior Associate, Private Equity Portfolio Management Role: As the Senior Associate, Private Equity Portfolio Management, your task is to support the CEO and C-suite executives serving as a strategic advisor and thought-partner to senior executives - act as a coach, mentor and “sparring partner” to the portfolio company management teams.
Formulate transformation programmes and/or initiatives, business turnaround strategy and/or investment strategies, particularly relating, but not limited to, areas of commercial excellence (e.g., salesforce effectiveness, incentivisation schemes and performance management, pricing and product/services portfolio optimisation, channel and GTM optimisation, CRM, etc.)
Lead major business turnaround initiatives and projects, knowledge sharing and developing the team's capabilities at both investment group level, and also the respective portfolio companies
Support other areas of value creation, such as operational excellence across end-to-end supply chain and operations, ESG-related initiatives, and digital transformation initiatives
Work alongside the broader regional value creation team to drive critical performance and organisational health initiatives across portfolio companies
Potentially lead/co-lead and manage third party consulting firm teams supporting our portfolio companies on engagements, if necessary, alongside CEO and C-suite executives at portfolio companies
Support deal teams with targeted commercial due diligence when necessary, especially on top-line growth, strategic and management matters
Provide support in crafting 100-day Value Creation Plans when necessary, alongside C-suite executives and senior management of portfolio companies. May include additional research support on the competitive landscape within particularly relevant sectors
In order to succeed in this Senior Associate, Private Equity Portfolio Management role, you should be an experienced professional with a minimum of five to seven years of experience.
Strong capabilities and established credentials in independently leading Commercial Excellence (sales and marketing) initiatives and CDD, is preferred
Experienced in driving value creation and working with SMEs and mid-market companies in Southeast Asia
Preferable with proven past experience with top-tier management consulting, transformation and turnaround firms, private equity firms or financial services in the region
Strong stakeholder management experience, including working with the organisations business leaders, especially at the Board, CXO, and CXO-1 levels
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, familiarity with financial models, and industry analyses
Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal, team-building, and verbal and written communication skills
Experience with digital marketing is an additional advantage
